25 THINGS WE LEARNED IN 2025

lessons and reminders we gathered through conversations, books, podcasts, mistakes, new routines, and moments of rest and reset this past year. a lot of these we hear time and time again, yet sometimes we need the little nudge to remind us to stay grounded and present. these are the mementos about patience, boundaries, and creativity that we took away, and what we’re bringing with us into the year ahead.

  1. comfort and growth can exist at the same time. taking the long way is still progress.

  2. you can miss places and people you know aren’t meant for you anymore.

  3. art doesn’t need permission to exist.

  4. you’re allowed to change your mind.

  5. don’t book an airbnb less than 24 hours before you’re meant to check in - book a hotel.

  6. not everyone gets the same version of you.

  7. drink the wine. eat the bread, life is short. and also eat breakfast in bed if you feel like it.

  8. take daily walks in the morning.

  9. shed what doesn’t serve you anymore. it’s ok to outgrow what doesn’t feel like you anymore (people, places, job, style, hair color - whatever!!!)

  10. nobody has to like it or approve of it for you to love it and you don’t have to be the best at something to enjoy it.

  11. just start. it doesn’t have to be perfect. you don’t have to be ready to begin.

  12. it can evolve. you can evolve. nothing is permanent.

  13. the grass isn’t always greener- but sometimes it is.

  14. explore and adventure - you weren’t meant to be in one place or do one thing.

  15. remember that someday you will feel nostalgic for the moment you’re in right now.

  16. your environment is a mirror of you (home, landscape, friends, office, etc.)

  17. it’s ok to have boundaries and block out the noise.

  18. keep dancing even when nobody else is.

  19. ask elders about their life and stories.

  20. having alone time is great and so is connecting with your people. make time for both.

  21. it’s easy to go back to the comfort zone but reallllly try not to. you’re ready to level up.

  22. consume less (materials, social media, negative energies)

  23. stop comparing yourself to others/ where you thought you’d be. you're not on anyone else's timeline.

  24. think about what your younger self loved to do and go back to that.

  25. romanticize the little things.

if there’s anything this year taught us, it’s that growth doesn’t always look loud or obvious. sometimes it’s quiet, messy, and unfolding in ways we don’t recognize right away. we don’t have it all figured out, but we’re learning to trust the process a little more. here’s to staying curious, patient, and open to whatever this next year holds.
